The shortage of semiconductor has caused a big disruption worldwide. Some large corporations had to suspend their production lines only because they did not get small tiny parts, chips. Among those the most affected was the auto industry, where heavy parts are set in place, robot machines are ready to attach the parts, but only tiny button-sized chips are missing, leading to temporary closure of factories.
How powerful, influential chips are. In Japan, Toyota, Sony and other Japanese companies have got together involving the government to set up Japan-based semiconductor factory called Rapidus so that their supply chains won’t get affected by external factors.
Do you think the move they made will be successful? Are there anything that should be taken into account?
